Your Excellencies, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
As we conclude the programme launch, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all those who joined us here today for this important initiative. I would also like to thank our panelists and our esteemed colleagues for a rich and insightful discussion.
To the Government of Egypt, our esteemed partners from the European Union, and UN Agencies present here today —your leadership and unwavering support have brought us to this pivotal moment. I would also like to specifically thank Ambassador Wael Badawi and his team for the day-to-day leadership in this work, whose tireless efforts continue to drive this mission forward.
While today marks the launch of this critical Joint UN Programme, it is only the beginning of our journey. As the needs of migrants and refugees in Egypt continue to evolve, it is essential that we regularly update our assessments and adapt our interventions accordingly. In this regard, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant national and UN partners, we will begin to update the situational assessment to ensure that our interventions are relevant and address the needs, including those of host communities. This programme has been designed with flexibility in mind, a modular approach that allows for expansion as new challenges and opportunities arise. I encourage all present to continue supporting the efforts of the Joint Platform, knowing that the collective impact of our actions will be far-reaching.
Thank you once again for your contributions and commitment. I look forward to the next steps in our shared mission to uphold the rights and well-being of migrants and refugees, ensuring that no one is left behind.
