Egypt UNCT Results Report 2022

2022 marked the end of the implementation of the UN Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) 2018-2022 and proved the value of working hand in hand with the Government of Egypt alongside the various local and international partners towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the national priorities.

The report tackles the results of four key results areas; inclusive economic development, social justice, environmental sustainability and natural resource management, and women’s empowerment. The UN was able to implement joint activities with these results areas in mind.

The 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP27 is an example of the successful collaboration between the Government of Egypt and the United Nations which led to the creation of the Loss and Damage Fund. COP27 allowed the UN in Egypt to bring forward capacity and expertise from all levels of the UN system on the important discussion revolving around the world's collective climate goals. It is also worth noting the importance of stimulating youth participation which was done through the local and global Climate Change Conferences of Youth.

The finalization of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Egypt and the United Nations for the period 2023-2027 took place during this eventful year and aims to promote the continuous cooperation between the UN in Egypt and the Government of Egypt while leaving no one behind.
