Maher Nasser, Director of the Outreach Division of the Department of Global Communications extends the invitation to all UNAI members and Higher Education Institutions to apply:
It is my pleasure to announce the opening of applications for a new cohort of United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Hubs for a three year period (January 2025 – December 2027).
I offer my sincere thanks to the UNAI SDG and Principle Hubs, who will be concluding their terms in December 2024, for their extraordinary dedication and commitment to advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the work of the United Nations.
2025 and beyond will represent a critical timeframe in the global efforts to achieve the sustainable development agenda by 2030. And, in 2025 the United Nations Academic Impact initiative will mark its 15th anniversary.
The UNAI SDG Hubs starting their tenure in 2025 will have a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in driving progress for the SDGs in higher education for a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
The primary responsibilities of of the new cohort of SDG Hubs will be to leverage best practice and strategic leadership to harness the power of cutting-edge research to inform policymaking and practice; to educate and co-create knowledge to equip the next generation of scholars and leaders; and to engage in cross-sectoral and cross-disciplinary partnerships for impact.
I encourage all interested UNAI member institutions to submit your applications online no later than 30 September 2024.
