Why Partner with UN

Why Partner with UN

There is much work to be done to make the world more inclusive and prosperous, and no single organization can do it alone. Partnerships and collaboration are essential. The UN recognizes that other organizations may also share similar motivations while desiring a positive return on investment. The United Nations in Egypt is excited about the opportunity to collaborate.

The UN is a global organization with immense technical capabilities and access. UN partnerships offer distinct advantages:

  • Neutral Broker Status: In a complex regulatory and geopolitical environment, the UN is a neutral intermediary between the state, civil society, and the private sector, ensuring fair play and transparent governance.
  • Unrivaled Technical Expertise: With 26 agencies, UN Egypt offers deep, specialized expertise — from ILO’s labor standards to UNDP’s digital governance and UNIDO’s industrial development experience.
  • SDG Alignment & Global Legitimacy: The UN is the custodian of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A UN partnership can provide, among other things, mission validation, finance, operations support, de-risking, and market access.

The UN partners to achieve shared goals. While the SDGs are the UN’s “north star,” companies and other organizations are likely driven by other incentives. Our partnerships acknowledge different motivations while allowing us to move beyond simple transactions or CSR to unlock the capital, innovation, and ingenuity that brings Egypt closer to achieving its SDG commitments.
